A Haven for Spiritual Renewal in Kumasi Amidst Media Workshop

In today’s fast-paced world, finding time to pause, reflect, and reconnect with God has become more important. The Centre for Spiritual Renewal in Santasi, Kumasi, offers a peaceful sanctuary for prayer, reflection, and rest.

I experienced this remarkable centre during the media training workshop organized by CASCON Ghana.

The venue itself became an unforgettable part of the experience.

Centered within the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi in Ghana’s Ashanti Region, the Centre for Spiritual Renewal is managed by the Jesuits.

Established in 1973, it hosts retreats, seminars, spiritual direction, leadership formation, and Christian gatherings, providing a space for individuals and groups to find God in silence and prayer.

As a member of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word, my first visit exceeded expectations. The peaceful atmosphere, beautiful lawns, well-positioned trees, colorful flowers, and refreshing breeze foster reflection and inner peace.
Although our focus was the media workshop, the serene surroundings enriched my experience.

The centre is led by Fr. Andrew Setsoafia, a Jesuit priest, and his staff, who warmly welcome guests and ensure a spiritually enriching stay.

Their hospitality embodies the Jesuit aim of accompanying people in faith.

After days at the centre, I wished the training could continue longer, partly due to its excellent program but mainly because of its serenity and spiritual nourishment, especially the Homily. It is indeed a place to rest, recharge, and rediscover God’s presence amid creation.

Whether for personal retreat, parish recollection, workshop, or quiet prayer, the Centre offers more than facilities; it offers encounters with God and renewal.

For anyone seeking silence, prayer, and renewal away from daily noise, the Centre for Spiritual Renewal in Santasi is a destination worth visiting.
