Over years ago, most people have had several ideas about Religious Sisters especially on the use of social media.
People think Catholic Sisters do not have access to the Internet and even if they have, it is limited. This was because they were limited not by Superiors or any official documents but probably most of them were not having more knowledge about how to go about things on social media and how to play with the media.
Most Religious Sisters are doing great job in their Congregations, at their places of apostolate and even in the church at large and all these excellent performances of Sisters were limited to those who had the opportunity to witness such occasions.

In our world today, thanks to the Catholic Sister Communicators Network, Ghana (CASCON-GH) for reaching out to many Religious Congregations in Ghana and introducing them to the media to help them to reach out to the whole world about religious sisters and what they do.
CASCON-GH started in 2024 with 20 pioneer Sisters from ten Women Religious Congregations and has trained not less than 60 Catholic Sisters on the use of the media.
CASCON-GH is currently having an in- person workshop for Sisters at Centre for Spiritual Renewal in the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi.

The programme funded by Conrad Hilton Foundation started fully on Thursday, July 30, 2026 and will end on August 1, 2026.
This training, facilitated by a team from Global Newswatch Media and Communications, has equipped Sisters who even had no knowledge about the media to go back and excel in the media.
WEBSITE MANAGEMENT
The facilitators, Mr. Eric Coco Mawunyengah took Sisters through practical sessions on website development and management. More importantly, he guided participants to post images and articles on the websites.
He again taught them to use AI tools for graphic designing, encouraging the Sister participants to be curious and always learn new things.
JOURNALISM AND AND INTERVIEWING
Ms. Jennifer Kwakyewaa Akuamoah also educated learners on how to write good stories and also how to conduct an interview.
She was much particular about participants paying much attention to the what, who, why, where, when and how in writing story.

She said this is what would help learners write good stories and encouraged writers to always have the end part of their stories in mind.
PHOTO AND VISUAL MEDIA
Mr. Derrick Attistsogbui Klu also helped the Sisters on how to handle the camera and take good pictures.
He also made it clear again that in taking pictures learners should have what they want to capture in mind to help them capture meaningful photos.
He emphasised that a good photographer can teach, inspire and evangelise.
With this Religious Sisters of Ghana can boldly say they have what it takes to be a communicator.

WAY FORWARD
With the initiative of CASCON-GH, Sister Communicators are encouraged to build on the foundation they have gained and make good use of the media.
Sisters are expected to tell the world that creating good content on social media is not a harm but it’s also a media for propagating the gospel and the fastest way of reaching out to the world and more importantly the youth.
