(FEATURE) PACESETTERS: THE LEADING LIGHT TO THE TRUTH

The Pacesetters is a group of young Religious Women who came together through the Catholic Sister Communicators Network, Ghana (CASCON-GH ) in-person training, from the group numbers of 1s.

The group was made up of ten Sisters, with each Sister coming from a different congregation, making the group dynamic, diverse, and unique.

The members of the group were:
Sr. Adelaide Bemah Saahene, SSL; Sr. Alice Marlyse, OSS; Sr. Eunice Angsotenge, FMM;
Sr. Scholastica Maria, CSFN; Sr. Florence Awambeng, HHCJ;
Sr. Felicia Chukwudiebre Agorchukwu, DMMMC; Sr. Esther Angyuum, MMS; Sr. Celestina Theresa, SDLM; Sr. Grace Ku-inne, SMI and
Sr. Emmanuella Dakurah, HHCJ.

The name “Pacesetters” came about as a result of being in groups of ones. The members were inspired to embrace the name because they desired to be a leading light to others. From the beginning, the group was active and vibrant, with members contributing greatly to the various group activities. They demonstrated a willingness to work together, support one another, and build meaningful relationships within the group.

The Pacesetters were given a topic on which they were to develop a story and conduct interviews. The topic was: “As the first Religious in the family, how has the journey been?”

This topic was chosen as a result of the name adopted by the group, making the assignment both meaningful and exciting.

Through this activity, the Sisters had the opportunity to learn about one another’s vocation stories and to share their experiences, including both the joys and challenges they have encountered along their vocational journeys. Each Sister also had the opportunity to share words of encouragement with young people who may be discerning their own vocation.

The group work also provided an opportunity for the sisteyrs to discover and appreciate the many talents within the group. Among these were skills in photography, interviewing, motivation, organisation, writing, and many others. This experience showed that each member had unique gifts that contributed to the richness and success of the group.

In conclusion, the Pacesetters truly lived up to their name. Through their collaboration, creativity, and sharing of their vocation stories, they paved the way for others to discover and experience the love of God.

Their journey as a group became a beautiful expression of their desire to be a leading light, inspiring others through their stories, gifts, and witnesses.
