HHCJ Formation Team Concludes Capacity-Building Workshop

The formation team of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus (HHCJ) in Ghana has successfully concluded a two-day capacity-building workshop held from September 2 to 3, 2026, at the HHCJ Novitiate in Sunyani-Nsoatre.

The gathering brought together formators from across the country to review, harmonise, and strengthen the Congregation’s initial formation processes.

The workshop was led and facilitated by the Superior General of the Congregation, Mother Germaine Ocansey, HHCJ. She guided the sessions alongside the Liaison Councillor for Formation, Sr. Patricia Onah, HHCJ, and the Coordinator for Formation, Sr. Juliana Onuchi

In her opening remarks, Mother Germaine welcomed the participating Sisters and outlined the central objective of the gathering: establishing structured guidance, standardised criteria for candidate selection, and authentic spiritual accompaniment for candidates’ discernment.

Throughout the two-day programme, the Sisters engaged in presentations and plenary discussions focusing on candidate evaluation, progressive interview methodologies, and contemporary approaches to initial and ongoing formation.

At the close of the meeting, the participating sisters expressed their profound gratitude to Mother Germaine Ocansey and her Council for their visionary leadership, support, and dedication to enriching the spiritual and structural growth of the Congregation’s formation program.
