Nsoatre-Sunyani, Ghana | 21 August 2026
Sisters from various communities of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus (HHCJ), Ghana Province, gathered at the Our Lady of the Annunciation Novitiate, Nsoatre-Sunyani, on 21 August 21, 2026 to witness the clothing ceremony of two new novices, Albertina Nyangale and Vivian Naa-Inuor Abeyel.
The celebration brought together Sisters at different stages of Religious Life, including those preparing to renew their vows, Novices and candidates preparing for their first profession.

The Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Anthony Kwadwo Damoah Jnr., with Rev. Fr. Reuben Opoku Nakuitey as homilist.
During the Mass, before the Scripture readings and homily, Albertina and Vivian received the HHCJ habit, blue veil and medal of the Blessed Virgin Mary, marking their transition from pre-novitiate formation into the novitiate.

In her message, Sr. Judith B. Magbity, HHCJ, Provincial Superior, expressed gratitude to the families, Parish Priests, Sisters, communities and Formation Team who accompanied the two candidates on their journey.
The new Novices will continue their formation under the guidance of the Formation Team and Directress of Novices, deepening their life of prayer, community, silence, service and discernment.

In his homily, Fr. Reuben reflected on the vision of the dry bones in Ezekiel 37, relating it to the journey of formation.
He encouraged Albertina and Vivian to remain open to God’s word, listen to their formators and live their vocation in love and communion with others.
He also reminded them that the Religious Habit is more than a garment; it is a visible sign of their “yes” to God and their commitment to a life of modesty, simplicity, purity and consecration.

In their vote of thanks, the new Novices expressed gratitude to God and to all who had supported their vocation journey.
As Albertina and Vivian begin this new chapter, the HHCJ Ghana Province entrusts them to the maternal care of the Blessed Virgin Mary, praying that she will guide them as they grow into authentic Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus.
