HHCJ Sisters Strengthen Digital Communication Ministry at CASCON-GH Media Training

Kumasi, Ghana – July 31, 2026

The Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus (HHCJ) made a strong contribution to the Catholic Sisters Communicators Network Ghana (CASCON-GH) Media Training held at the Centre for Spiritual Renewal in Kumasi, reaffirming the congregation’s commitment to strengthening communication as an essential part of evangelisation.

Representing the Congregation were three newly appointed Sister Communicators Sr. Florence HHCJ, Sr. Vera Tay HHCJ, and Sr. Victoria Lagbie HHCJ,  who actively participated in the three-day capacity-building programme designed to enhance the digital communication skills of Catholic Sisters across Ghana.

Throughout the training, the Sisters engaged enthusiastically in sessions on website Management, photography,  videography, writing, interviewing techniques, visual storytelling, and media ethics.

Through practical exercises, group discussions, and hands-on assignments, they developed skills that will support them in documenting and sharing the life, mission, and apostolic works of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus with greater professionalism and creativity.

The HHCJ delegation was led by Sr. Emmanuella Dakurah HHCJ, a pioneer Sister Communicator and the Director of CASCON-GH, whose leadership has been instrumental in advancing the communication ministry among Women Religious in Ghana.

Speaking on the significance of the training, Sr. Emmanuella noted that effective communication has become an indispensable tool for evangelisation and mission.

She encouraged the participants to use the knowledge and practical skills acquired during the programme to tell authentic stories that inspire hope, promote the works of their congregations, and strengthen the Church’s presence in digital spaces.

For the newly appointed HHCJ communicators, the training marked an important step in preparing them to serve their Congregation through the use of modern communication tools.

By strengthening their skills in storytelling, photography, and digital media, they are better equipped to preserve the congregation’s history, highlight its ministries, and engage wider audiences with the Gospel values lived through the mission of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus.

Their participation reflects the HHCJ congregation’s ongoing commitment to embracing contemporary means of communication in proclaiming Christ’s message and making the transformative work of the congregation more visible to the Church and society.

As CASCON-GH continues to build the communication capacity of Catholic Sisters across Ghana, the active involvement of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus demonstrates a shared vision of using media professionally, creatively, and ethically in the service of evangelisation.
