Kumasi, Santasi Ghana – August 3, 2026

The sisters of Divine Love and Mercy are a new congregation in the Archdiocese of Tamale.

As part of making the congregation known they took a bold step to venture into the media to strengthen the communication and evangelization efforts of their ministry. And there came two of the Sisters Immaculate and Celestina who successfully participated in the three-day media training organized by the Catholic Sister Communicators Network – Ghana (CASCON-GH).

The training commenced on the July 29 and ended 1st August 2, 2026 at the Centre for Spiritual Renewal (CSR), Kumasi – Santasi. Religious Sisters from Nineteen (19) Congregations across Ghana were brought together to acquire practical skills in communication and media for their missions.

The Sisters of Divine Love and Mercy participated in sessions on Website Management and Ethics which was led by Mr Eric Coco Mawuenyegah, who he emphasised on creating a congregational website and knowing who controls the website like the administrator.

He also explained the distinctive roles of the website management.

Interview techniques, mock sessions, and storytelling were facilitated by Miss Jennifer Kwakyewa Akuamoah. Some of the excerpts from her were that a good story should not miss out the 5Ws and 1H which are the who, why, when, what, where and how and a Communicator must read widely and do research.

Mr. Derrick Klu Attisogbui also taught photography, videography and editing and how to assembly the camera and how it should be cared for.

Some of our noble facilitators who made a great impact on us were Mr. Robert Dela Mawuenyegah,Mr. Damian Avevor, Mr. John Kyei and Miss Celestine Gbologah of Newswatch Media and Communications.

Each participant was presented with media jackets to wear to be identified as Sister Communicators and each congregation also received a digital camera to aid in their work as Catholic Sister Communicators.

The training is to equip Religious Sisters to become communicators using media platforms in proclaiming the Gospel to people of Good will.

For the Sisters of Divine Love and Mercy, it is a good opportunity for us to make known the Mercy of God through the media and as beginners it is a new apostolate to be in media communication.

The knowledge and skills acquired by the these two Sisters will help the Congregation’s appearance on media, tell their stories and publish its apostolates, spiritual activities, and many others.

The two Sisters of the Divine Love and Mercy were encouraged to put in more efforts in making their Congregation known as well as make CASCON-GH Media also their first love to be able to improve on their writing skills and story telling skills.

They were also encouraged to participate in any programme of the Diocese as well as collaborate with the Archdiocesan DEPSOCOM.

The Sisters offered appreciation to our benefactors and benefactresses for empowering us to be the voice of the voiceless and also the able and capable executives of CASCON-GH for their hard work and dedication and our Noble and kindhearted facilitators.
