Three Catholic Sister Networks in Ghana Hold Joint Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Workshop in Sunyani

Three national Catholic Sister Networks in Ghana are currently participating in a five-day joint Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) workshop taking place from July 6 to 10, 2026 at the Eusbett Hotel, Sunyani, in the Bono Region of Ghana.

The workshop has brought together the management teams of the Catholic Sister Communicators Network–Ghana (CASCON-GH), the Catholic Sisters Elderly Care Network–Ghana (CSECN-GH), and Talitha Kum–Ghana.

The training is aimed at strengthening the capacity of the three networks to effectively plan, monitor, evaluate, and document the impact of their programmes and ministries.

The workshop is being facilitated by Mr. Tom Olila of Strategic Connections, who is leading participants through practical and interactive sessions on Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning.

Through presentations, group discussions, case studies, and practical exercises, participants are gaining valuable knowledge and skills that will enable them to improve programme implementation, measure outcomes, and promote organizational learning.

Key topics being explored include the development of theories of change, results frameworks, performance indicators, data collection methods, data analysis, reporting, documentation of lessons learned, and the use of evidence for informed decision-making.

Participants are also learning how to strengthen accountability, improve programme quality, and demonstrate the impact of their work to stakeholders and funding partners.

The workshop is also providing an important opportunity for collaboration among the three networks.

Participants are sharing experiences, exchanging best practices, and identifying common approaches to strengthening their ministries in the areas of communication, elderly care, and the fight against human trafficking.

The training is being funded by the Hilton Foundation, whose support continues to strengthen the institutional capacity of Catholic Sister-led ministries in Ghana.

The Foundation’s investment is helping the networks build sustainable systems in Ghana that enhance effectiveness, accountability, and long-term impact.

As the workshop continues, participants remain actively engaged in discussions and practical learning sessions. They are expected to develop practical Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning strategies that will further strengthen their respective networks and enhance their service to the Church and society.

The workshop continues until July 10, 2026, with participants looking forward to additional sessions that will further deepen their understanding and application of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning in their ministries.
