His Excellency Julien Kabore, Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, has extolled the venerable Archbishop Emeritus of Kumasi, Most Rev. Peter Kwasi Sarpong for possessing a perfect combination of both spiritual and human wisdom.
He made this known during the March 15, 2026 Cultural Evening celebrations, to end the Regional Conference of Major Superiors of West Africa (RECOMSWA) and the Africa Religious Union of Ghana (ARUG), at the Christian village – Santasi, Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Addressing Archbishop Emeritus who had been present at the climax Mass at the St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica earlier in the day, and was again present for the Cultural celebrations, the Nuncio deeply appreciated his presence, which for him, was a blessing.
He celebrated the gift of long life which God had bestowed upon Archbishop Sarpong, congratulating him for his 56 years of Episcopal Ordination, and 93rd birthday which he had recently celebrated.

To him, the Archbishop Emeritus Sarpong is a true definition of the word ‘Priest’ meaning ‘an elder’.
He opined that a real elder must possess both spiritual and human wisdom, all of which qualities he found in Archbishop Sarpong.

Archbishop Kabore further applauded the ‘wonderful’ performance of the choir that entertained the Consecrated People at the Cultural event, revealing that the said choir was founded through the initiative of the Archbishop Emeritus Sarpong, and hence, was his legacy.
The Nuncio extended sincere gratitude to the host Archbishop, Most Rev. Gabriel Justice Yaw Anokye, for his warm welcome and “youthful demeanor”.

“Each time I come here in Kumasi, I feel refreshed,” he celebrated, lauding Archbishop Anokye for his rich hospitality.
Archbishop Anokye was not only present at the Cultural evening festivities, but was Co-Emcee of the event, adding spice to it, with his good command of both English and French, to the delight of both the English-Speaking and French-speaking participants.
