Mr. Moses Tangmee, the newly elected District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwahu Afram Plains South in Ghana’s Eastern Region has paid a courtesy visit to the Holy Rosary School, Donkorkrom, in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District, where one of his children attends school.

The School is managed by the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Holy Rosary Congregation.

The DCE whose new appointment took him away from Donkorkrom, disclosed that the purpose of his visit to the school was to see his son, whom he hasn’t seen in a month due to commitments, and also to greet the school management since he hasn’t been to the school since after his appointment.

In an interview with the writer on how he received the news of his new appointment, Mr. Tangmee revealed that it was an exciting and grace-filled moment for him.

He was particularly thankful to God for choosing him among the eight (8) candidates who had applied for the noble position of District Chief Executive for Afram Plains South.

He was further indebted to the powers that be, for electing him, as well as the Assembly men who had played their part in confirming his election for the position.

According to him, being the President’s representative in his area of jurisdiction is an interesting position; “you get to meet a lot of people, visitors from all over,” he said, who come to share their visions with him, among other things.

Even with his new portfolio, the Holy Rosary School long-time parent, had no plans of removing his son from the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary run school, any time soon, because according to him, the school is doing well and the children “are performing”.

The School Management led by Sr. Stella Nwosu, MSHR, Headmistress together with staff and learners present expressed excitement as they welcomed the DCE; one of their parents who has been raised to a higher rank.

During his June 16, 2025 visit to the school, the Afram Plains South DCE offered a token for snacks for the learners who had come out to welcome him.

By Sr. Sylvie Lum Cho, MSHR (Sister Communicator / DEPSOCOM – Donkorkrom Apostolic Vicariate).
