Nsoatre-Sunyani, Ghana – April 11, 2026.
At a strategic leadership workshop held in Nsoatre-Sunyani, Rev. Fr. Cyprian Kuupol delivered a thought-provoking homily to members of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus (HHCJ) Ghana Province, urging consecrated women to embrace the transformative power of the Resurrection in their daily lives and community relationships.

Preaching on the Resurrection narrative as presented in the Gospel of Mark, Fr. Kuupol emphasized God’s enduring mercy and patience, noting that “the Lord empowers even when we do not believe” and continually offers humanity another chance, even in moments of doubt and distrust.
Reflecting on the Gospel account, he recounted how Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdalene, who went to inform the disciples, only to be met with disbelief. Despite their lack of faith, Jesus did not abandon them. Instead, He rebuked their unbelief and went on to commission them to preach the Good News.

According to Fr. Kuupol, this serves as a powerful reminder that God does not give up on His people but continues to entrust them with responsibility and mission.
He challenged the sisters to demonstrate courage in proclaiming the Resurrection, not only through words but through their actions, attitudes, and interactions with one another. “We should be courageous enough to announce the Resurrection by the way we live and the way we speak to one another,” he said.
Addressing the unique vocation of consecrated women, Fr. Kuupol posed reflective questions on personal and communal growth: whether they would remain unchanged or learn from the experiences of the apostles. He highlighted the importance of offering one another second chances, drawing inspiration from the apostles’ journey from doubt to faith.

“God has given us the opportunity to live out what we have not lived,” he noted, encouraging the sisters to extend the same grace to others. He urged them to foster a spirit of encouragement and empowerment within their communities, describing this as essential to sustaining the message of the Resurrection.
The homily concluded with a call to action for the sisters to support one another in their spiritual journeys, reinforcing that mutual encouragement and empowerment are key to keeping the spirit of the Resurrection alive.
