The Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus (HHCJ) in Ghana celebrated the admission of three new postulants into the pre-Novitiate on March 25, 2026.
The ceremony, held at the Pre-Novitiate in Kwabenakw Obuasi, Ghana, marked a significant day for these young women as they officially began their formal journey into Religious Life.
The Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. John Callistus Sanaa, who delivered an inspiring homily centred on the nature of divine vocation.

Addressing the aspirants as they prepared to be hooded, he emphasised that while today marked their official response, God’s call had been present in their lives long before this moment.
He encouraged the newly admitted postulants to fully avail themselves of God’s grace and to offer their absolute best in service to the Almighty.
Fr. Sanaah further noted that the postulants need not fear the challenges of the journey ahead. He maintained that God never calls without also equipping the soul, highlighting that just as God prepared the body of the Blessed Virgin Mary for the monumental task ahead of her, He has already fortified them for the tests they will encounter.

Reflecting on the liturgical significance of the day, Fr. Sanaah reiterated that the Fiat of Mary “let it be done” coupled with the day’s responsorial psalm, ” see i have come Lord to do your will” should serve as a guide for their lives.
He underpinned the necessity of embracing the will of God in all circumstances, assuring the young women that such surrender is the key to a fruitful formation.

Fr. Callistus commended the HHCJ Sisters for their tireless dedication, praising their impactful contributions to both the local parish and the wider Diocese on the occasion of their feast day .
The Provincial Superior, Sr. Judith Magbity, HHCJ, also offered her congratulatory message, expressing deep gratitude for the readiness of the Pre-Novices to embrace the Religious life.

She beckoned them to maintain a spirit of openness and docility toward their formators, emphasising the importance of their formation

She urged them to remain steadfast in prayer so that the Holy Spirit would remain their primary guide throughout their formative journey.
On behalf of the postulants, Matilda Gyane conveyed a heartfelt message of appreciation, thanking Fr. Callistus for his spiritual leadership, Sr. Judith Magbity for her maternal guidance, and the gathered faithful for their prayers and support as they take these first courageous steps.
