Three members of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM) Srs. Rebecca Dery, Gladys Dery and Grace Ateriyine Atazina will be making their Perpetual Profession of Religious vows, on September 12, 2026.
It would be their final commitment in Religious Life, during a solemn Eucharistic celebration at the Holy Cross Parish, Tamale.l at 9:00am.
On that day, they would publicly consecrate themselves to God for life through the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience in the presence of the Church, family members, friends, and well-wishers.
The celebration will be held under the theme: “I have called you by name, you are mine”
The Holy Mass would be presided over by His Grace, Most Rev. Philip Naameh, the Archbishop of Tamale Archdiocese.
It is expected to draw Priests, Religious Men and Women, our family members, parishioners, benefactors, colleagues and friends from various parts of Ghana and beyond, who will gather to witness and celebrate this important occasion in our lives.

The Perpetual Profession of Vows marks the culmination of many years of formation, prayer, discernment, and missionary preparation.
During the ceremony, the three Sisters will publicly profess their vows before the Church and the Congregation, committing themselves permanently to follow Christ in the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary way of life.
They will sign the profession document, receive symbols associated with their consecration, and commit themselves completely to the mission of Christ and the service of humanity.

The celebration will be characterized by prayer, joyful worship, and expressions of gratitude. It will provide an opportunity for the faithful to reflect on the gift of religious vocation and to thank God for the generous response that we have made to the call of Christ.
The event will also serve as a moment of encouragement for young people discerning their vocation in the Church.
Founded in 1877 by Blessed Mary of the Passion, the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary is an international missionary congregation of women dedicated to witnessing God’s love through prayer, presence, and service.
Inspired by the spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi, the Congregation seeks to bring the Gospel to all people, especially those who are poor, marginalized, and most in need of compassion and hope.
The Congregation is rooted in contemplation, missionary outreach, simplicity, and universal fraternity and strive as individuals and as a Congregation to be witnesses of peace and reconciliation, living among people of different cultures, religions backgrounds while promoting human dignity and the values of the Gospel.

Today, the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary serve in many countries across the world in ministries such as healthcare, education, pastoral work, social work, and care for the poor and vulnerable in society.
Their mission is animated by a deep desire to make the love of Christ visible wherever they are sent.
As three FMM Sisters prepare for this joyful celebration of Perpetual Profession, the faithful are invited to accompany them with their prayers and support.
May the witness of three of us inspire many young people to listen courageously to God’s call and to respond generously in service to the Church and the world.
