Fourteen Religious Sisters in Ghana who are beneficiaries of an initiative of the Conference of Major Superiors of Religious – Ghana (CMSR-GH), and the Conrald Hilton Foundation as donors have graduated after participating in a three-month on-going formation course.
The three-month course which began in October for fourteen Temporary Professed Sisters successfully came to an end on December 16, which saw the joyful graduation ceremony of the Sisters.
The graduating Sisters consist of temporary professed Sisters from the Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church (SMMC), Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM), Daughters of the Most Holy Trinity (FST), Marian Sisters of Eucharistic Love, (MASEL), Handmaids of the Divine Redeemer (HDR) and Sisters of the Incarnate Word (SVI).
The ceremony was marked with a solemn Mass at the Chapel of the Institute of Continuing Formation (ICF) at Elmina, Cape Coast where the graduates were presented with certificates and blessed.
Friar Francis Atobrah Adusei-Poku, OFM Conv, who presided over the Mass, encouraged the Sisters to see their state of temporary profession as a refinery to shape them to become the kind of religious they have to be.
The Director of the ICF, Bro. Emmanuel Affum, SVD, also urged the Sisters to own the Institute wherever they found themselves, saying, “Avail yourselves if you are invited to work with ICF one day.”
On behalf of the graduating Sisters, Sr. Eunice Angosotenge, FMM, thanked God for guiding and protecting them throughout their stay at the Institute.
“As we mark this momentous occasion today, we represent not only our own accomplishments but also the sacrifices and support of those who have helped us along the way,” she stated.
Present at the celebration were, Rev. Fr Jean Claude OFM, Seminarians, and participants in the formation of formators program at the institute.
