As part of preparations for the 7th General Chapter of the Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church (SMMC), a day’s Conference had been organized for members on the topic “New Evangelization in the Digital World of communication” facilitated by Mr. Robert Dela Yao Mawuenyegah on August 11, 2024 at Sokode Gbogame in the Ho Diocese of Ghana.
The SMMC has held a series of Workshops and Conferences for the upcoming General Chapter in October, 2024. Among them were talks on” Formation” by Sr. Paulette Ankrah, RVM and “Mary Mother of the Church, our model” by Rev. Fr. Dr. Isaac Benuyenah, Administrator of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Ho.
The SMMC Sisters gathered at Sokode Gbogame from Friday, August 9, 2024 to Sunday, August 11, 2024 to get themselves acquainted with some of the aspects of the theme for the Chapter, “Revitalizing Our Charism and Formation in Line with the New Evangelization in a Digital World of Communication.”
Harnessing the last aspect of the theme, ‘New Evangelization in the Digital World of Communication’, Mr. Mawuenyegah encouraged SMMC not to be afraid of using the social media handles to tell their stories.
He emphasised that, whether we like it or not, the digital communication has come to stay so we have to move along with the world and use electronics for our evangelization.
In his discourse with the Sisters, recommended that the Pope’s Message on the 58th World Day of Social Communications and be abreast with the advent of Artificial intelligence (AI).
