In the closing lines of his message for the 59th World Day of Social Communications, the Holy Father appealed to communicators around the globe to become artisans of peace through words shaped by gentleness and hope.

In the message released at the Vatican City, on January, 24, 2025, before his demise in April 2025, Pope Francis emphasized that in a world increasingly marked by conflict and division, the responsibility of journalists and media professionals is not just to inform, but to uplift.

Pope Francis urged those in the field of communication to draw strength from their inner lives, cultivating humility and empathy. He stressed that true dialogue begins within the heart—requiring a spirit that listens deeply before it speaks.

For the Pope, the communicator’s role is not merely technical or professional but deeply human and spiritual, rooted in the dignity of every person.

The message included a call to remember the human faces behind every story and to resist the temptation of sensationalism or hostility. Pope Francis offered a gentle reminder: through careful, compassionate communication, media can become an instrument of healing and unity. The full message can be read here.

Again , Pope Francis called on journalists and communicators to become “gentle messengers of hope” in an era often dominated by hostility and division.

Stressing the importance of interior reflection and empathy, the Pope urged communicators to remember the human faces behind the headlines and to wield their words with care and compassion. His final appeal: choose dialogue, not division; hope, not harm.

Pope Francis is greatly missed for his love for communication and love for all no matter ones background. May he continue to rest peacefully in the bosom of our Maker.
