Sr. Georgina Kpeglo’s Inspiring Journey of Faith, Fashion, and Service.
Sr. Georgina Ama Veronica Kpeglo , SMMC, is a member of the Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church (SMMC), an Institute of indigenous Catholic Religious women in Ghana.
She celebrates 25 years as a Consecrated woman.
Born in August 1968 to humble farmers, Mr. Raphael Kofi Kpeglo and Madam Cecilia Ama Mansa Mottey, Sr. Georgina Ama Veronica Kpeglo has risen through faith, perseverance, and passion to become a shining light in both religious life and vocational training among her Sisters.
Her journey began in the quiet town of Hodzo-Aviefe, where she attended Primary School before moving on to Ho Anglican Middle School and later, St. John Bosco Vocational at Tokokoe, all in the Volta Region.
She sharpened her technical skills at Ho Technical Institute, eventually advancing her training in fashion at the prestigious St. Anne’s Vocational Institute at Nuaso, Eastern Region.
But Sr. Georgina’s path was not only academic—it was deeply spiritual. Feeling the call to serve, she entered the Convent at Dzelukofe in 1997 as a postulant.
Two years later, she entered the Novitiate at Sokode, where she made her First Religious Profession on August 15, 2000. After years of faithful service, she made her Final Profession on the same date in 2009, sealing her life-long commitment to God and humanity.
With a passion for dressmaking and a heart for teaching, Sr. Georgina now combines her faith with her professional skills to empower young women.
She is a role model in blending spirituality with self-reliance and compassion as she gladly accepted to cater for the Emeritus Bishop of Ho Diocese, the Most Rev. Francis Anani Kofi Lodonu for a long period now at Bame.
Her kindness to all who visit the Retirement home of the Bishop and her keen interest in the many young people who are neighbours is exemplary.
Her ambition is to continue her apostolate through dressmaking and teaching, instilling discipline, creativity, and faith in the next generation.
From the farm fields of her parents to the fabric of God’s work, Sr. Georgina’s story is a powerful testimony that purpose and passion, when combined with faith, can transform lives and communities.
