His Lordship, John Alphonse Asiedu, SVD, Catholic Bishop of Donkorkrom Apostolic Vicariate in the Afram Plains, Ghana, has appreciated Sr. Cecilia Kudexa of the Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church ( SMMC ) Congregation for her committed service to the Vicariate all these years.
He announced to the Priests and Religious of the Vicariate during their December 30, 2024 Co-workers Day celebration that Sr. Cecilia was leaving the Vicariate for good by the end of the year.
The Bishop said, “We want to thank Sister very very much for the work she has done for the Vicariate, especially with the Catechists, and not only that, but also with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, alongside the several other activities that she has been very actively involved in”.
“Sister we are very grateful to you and say thank you so much. May God bless you for all the sacrifices that you put in all the apostolates entrusted to your care. We want to wish you the very best as you move on to your next ministry. Thank you so much,” the Bishop acknowledged.
Sr. Kudexa was also appreciated at the second part of the Co-workers celebration at the Alfons Merten’s Center by Rev. Fr. Bernard Appiah Adjei, SVD, Cathedral Administrator and President of African Religious Union of Ghana (ARUG), together with Sr. Stella Nwosu, MSHR, one of the Coordinators of Religious activities within the Vicariate, who had worked so closely with Sr. Kudexa.
For the Ghanaian-born SMMC Nun, she had accepted the reality of Afram Plains as a mission territory and that helped her to settle down and enjoy her mission.
“I have loved the mission here in Afram Plains and in the Vicariate,” she declared, adding that though a very tough and challenging one, she was able to see through the challenges what the Lord “can push me to do in the face of challenges”.
