Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Abbey-Quaye,  a Priest of the Cape Coast Archdiocese, has officially launched the third volume of his book, Catholic Memorials, with the aim of establishing an educational fund to support the Sisters of the Society of the Infant Jesus (SIJEF).

The launch, held at St. Peter’s Regional Seminary, Pedu, Cape Coast, attracted a distinguished gathering of clergy, religious leaders, and lay faithful.

Fr. Abbey-Quaye shared that the idea for the educational fund was inspired by a thought-provoking question from a sister during the launch of his second volume in 2018. Expressing gratitude to the attendees, he noted that the proceeds from the book would be used to support the ongoing formation and education of the Sisters.

The newly launched Catholic Memorials Volume 3 features obligatory and selected optional memorials of renowned saints, including St. Pope John Paul II and St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Fr. Abbey-Quaye believes that the book will offer significant spiritual benefits to Catholic families.

Notable dignitaries at the event included Very Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Annan, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Cape Coast; Very Rev. Fr. Robert Sniper, Rector of St. Peter’s Regional Seminary; Sr. Francisca Ama Damoah, Superior General of the Society of the Infant Jesus; as well as academics Prof. Bentum and Prof. Kuupole. Dr. Sir Lawrence Honny served as the Chairperson for the occasion.

Fr. Abbey-Quaye described the educational endowment fund as a modest gesture of gratitude to the Sisters, who have played an instrumental role in his life, including gifting him his first Bible when he entered the minor seminary.

Sr. Francisca Ama Damoah, the Superior General of the Society of the Infant Jesus, praised Fr. Abbey-Quaye for his generosity and thoughtfulness, commending his deep love and care for the Sisters’ welfare.
