Sister Gifty’s Reflection: PASSION SUNDAY/PALM SUNDAY THEME:”They wanted a king that would change their present predicament, but he came to conquer their hearts in order to effect the change from within.”

As we enter into the Passion of Jesus, this quote beautifully encapsulates the essence of His mission. The crowds in Jerusalem were eager for a Messiah who would liberate them from Roman rule, a king who would address their immediate struggles. Yet, Jesus came with a deeper purpose—not to overthrow, but to transform hearts and restore humanity’s relationship with God.

His entry into Jerusalem on a donkey symbolized humility and peace, not conquest. The change He offered was not one of fleeting circumstances, but of eternal significance—calling people to a kingdom not of this world. This moment reminds us to reflect on our own expectations of Christ. Do we seek quick fixes to our struggles, or are we open to the deeper, inward transformation He offers?

May this Holy Week inspire us to let Him reign within our hearts, bringing the true and lasting change only He can provide.
