The Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, Bishop of the Diocese of Sunyani, Ghana, has stated that the Church had never canonised a Congregation but an individual.
Speaking at the first profession of vows of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus on August 22, 2025 at the St. Paul Catholic Church, Nsoatre.
He underscored the fact that there are some people who are more closely related to Jesus than others.
“Don’t look at what people say and think. Look at your heart for he mentioned each of you by name, one by one,” he said.
He urged the professed Sisters to understand, reflect and meditate upon it,, saying that “No one can change what God has done in your life.
He highlighted that, the Sisters to be professed should see this as their final vows because God has already consecrated them..
He concluded:, now the Lord said ” I have sent you, go” I repeat the same words to you, calling you by name, I’m sending you to the nations, I am appointing you to the nations, go, wherever he sends you,go”
