The Jubilee of Communicators in Rome: a Spiritual and Professional Milestone for a Ghanaian Sister Communicator.

Sr. Emmanuella Dakurah HHCJ, the President of the Sister Communicators Network, Ghana (CASCON-GH), reflects on her enriching experience of attending the Jubilee of Communicators in Rome held from January 21 to 27, 2025 to celebrate the important role communicators play in the Church, was a profound spiritual and professional journey.

As part of her experiences, Sr. Emmanuella found inspiration in the diverse gathering of communicators from around the world, sharing insights on how communication connects people to faith, hope, and love. She was deeply moved by the unity of purpose, as attendees discussed the challenges and opportunities in spreading the Gospel through modern communication tools.

The experience allowed her to reflect on her vocation as a communicator, reaffirming her mission to bring the message of Christ to the world through media and creative expression. The event also served as a reminder of the importance of truth, integrity, and compassion in every message shared.

Attending the Jubilee was not only a professional milestone but also a spiritual one, deepening Sr. Emmanuella’s commitment to her work and encouraging her to continue serving the Church with passion and dedication.

As the President of the Sister Communicators in Ghana, Sr. Emmanuella Dakurah has drawn inspiration from her enriching experience at the Jubilee of Communicators in Rome to enhance communication among her colleague Sister Communicators in Ghana. By witnessing the global scope of the event and reflecting on the importance of communication in the Church’s mission, she is bid to focus on several key strategies to support her fellow communicators in Ghana in the following areas:

Fostering Unity and Collaboration: Inspired by the global network of communicators she encountered in Rome, Sr. Emmanuella envisage to encourage Sister Communicators in Ghana to collaborate more closely. The expectation is to create platforms for regular communication and sharing of best practices, ensuring that ideas and resources are exchanged freely, thus strengthening the collective impact.

Training and Skill Development: Understanding the importance of modern tools in communication, Sr. Emmanuella have plans to prioritize training for Sister Communicators in digital media, social media management, and multimedia content creation. She has the intention of likely organizing workshops, webinars, and retreats where they can learn how to better engage their communities using contemporary communication methods while staying true to the values of the Church.

Emphasizing the Role of Communication in Evangelization: Inspired by her visit to the Holy places and the reflections on the role of communication in spreading the Gospel, Sr. Emmanuella reminds Sister Communicators in Ghana of the mission of evangelization. She is bid to encourage them to use their platforms to spread the message of Christ with compassion, creativity, and integrity.

Spiritual and Professional Growth: Drawing on the spiritual enrichment she received during the Jubilee, Sr. Emmanuella plans to facilitate retreats and reflection sessions to help Sister Communicators in Ghana align their professional and spiritual missions. She hopes to stress that effective communication stems from prayer, discernment, and a genuine connection with God.

Advocating for Ethical Communication: Having observed the value of truth and ethics in communication at the Jubilee, Sr. Emmanuella assures to strive to ensure that Sister Communicators in Ghana uphold high ethical standards, emphasizing the importance of truthful, responsible, and respectful communication in both personal and professional contexts.

By incorporating these strategies into her leadership approach, Sr. Emmanuella aims to elevate the role of Sister Communicators in Ghana, ensuring they contribute significantly to the Church’s evangelizing mission through effective, ethical, and spiritually informed communication.
