God is the Potter, and we are the clay, the work of His hands. In mediation, my attention was drawn to these few points.
Some things to note about the clay and likening them to ourselves and life.
In the hand of the Potter.
We should embrace the reality of being in another’s hand be it God, someone in authority, our loved ones, etc. You will be held by some because you love them or because they love you; because you have to work with them, be in the same room or church, or live in some house or area. Humility is the watchword. Be humble enough to be held. Accept feedback and listen to others and their opinions with all humility.
It went through kneading and pressing
The reality of turning out well and being the best version of yourself is that you will go through the hard truth of having to face yourself for who you truly are. There will be no excuses and no blame game. Kneading and pressing can be uncomfortable, just like when you have to face your strengths and weaknesses, accept them as they are and be ready to work on them
Just when it felt good about itself as being fashioned into an object, the potter felt there was still something more to add, and it was smashed because there were further additions to be made.
You may be doing well, soaring high according to your standards, but the honest truth is that you may receive a hard slap on the face or a painful smash when life throws difficulties and hardships you never expected at you. The reality could be that there is still some value you need to learn when the time comes to survive. I am doing well; all is well and fine, Take your time. This comes hard but you will also need this and that to spice you up
Dearest Clay,
Be humble
Be open to facing and discovering yourself.
Prepare to accept and work on your strengths and weaknesses.
This is when you truly become God’s gift to the world.
