Nine Sisters of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus (HHCJ), professed their vows on August 22, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Nsoatre, Bono Region, Ghana.
The celebrant of the Mass was the Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, Bishop of the Diocese of Sunyani.
In his homily, he congratulated the Sisters relating that it was not by their strength but by the grace of the Lord.
Undoubtedly, the Bishop told the Sisters that the Lord had called them, saying, “Before you were born, he called you and consecrated you.”
“Not only that, but the Lord has given all the appointments that you are going to do through your Superiors,” he stated.
He further said, this work or this call could not be done with human strength, “That is why Jeremiah said, he is too young and cannot do it.”
According to Bishop Gyamfi, a genuine call is always aware of the task of the call ahead, stating that some of the most consoling words that were associated with the call are “do not be afraid, says the Lord for I am with you.”
He reminded the Professed Sisters that the “Lord is whispering into your ears, so do not be afraid.”
He encouraged them to be strong and trust in the Lord and he would always be with them.
