The central focus of this period is typically a call to deepen our relationship with God through steadfast prayer, trust, and action.

In the gospel according to Matthew 7:7-12, Jesus encourages, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” This teaches us to approach prayer with persistence and faith. The metaphor of asking, seeking, and knocking reminds us that prayer is not a one-time effort—it requires endurance, belief, and active participation.

A model of perseverance in prayer is presented us in the Old Testament; Esther 14:1-14, where Esther exemplifies a persevering spirit through her prayer and fasting as she seeks divine intervention for her people. 1. The Nature of Prayer:True prayer is a dialogue of trust and love with God, not merely a list of requests.

How do you see this spirit of perseverance reflected in your own life or spiritual journey?
