A group of 16 Catholic Religious Sisters from different Congregations has taken a big step forward in their leadership journey through the Sisters Leadership Development Initiative (SLDI).
It was organised by the African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC).
From July 5 to August 1, the Sisters gathered at the Institute of Continuing Formation (ICF) in Elmina -Cape Coast, Ghana for a month-long training focused on financial management, effective report writing, and the power of mentoring.

During the programme, the Sisters learned about the importance of leadership, accountability, and integrity.
They studied four major leadership styles; autocratic, democratic, laissez-faire, and servant leadership as well as the Seven C’s of effective communication to help them lead their communities better.
Throughout the training, the Sisters gained practical knowledge on how to prepare clear, well-structured financial and project reports.

They also explored how mentoring can help them pass down valuable skills, knowledge, and wisdom to younger sisters in their various communities.
The participants expressed their deep appreciation to their facilitators for an insightful and wonderful time together, while thanking (ASEC) executives for providing such a transforming opportunity and promising to put all they learned into practice.
