The Sisters of the Congregation of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus (HHCJ ) gathered at Nsoatre, Sunyani, Ghana on Saturday, June 20, 2026, for the opening Mass of their workshop on Vows and General Assembly.
The Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Rev. Fr. Ruben Natuitey, the Parish Priest of St. Paul Catholic Church, Nsoatre focused on God’s love, unity, and trusting God to provide for all human needs.
In his homily , Father Ruben used the picture of a line connecting heaven and earth. He said that God looks down with love to lift people up from sin and bring them into His grace. He reminded the congregation that Jesus became human to live among us and bring everyone closer to God.

The Priest also cautioned against running after power, high positions, and fancy clothes just to impress others. He said that people often worry too much about the future and boast about their own achievements.
Instead, he reminded the sisters to stay humble and remember that they are servants of God.
Fr Natuitey explained that true communion is not just about taking the Holy Eucharist, but also about living in unity as sisters. He opined that the bond of sisterhood within the congregation both biological and spiritual is a connection that nothing can separate.

He encouraged the HHCJ Sisters by reminding them that they share a common account where what belongs to one belongs to all, eliminating the need for individual worry.
To end his message, Fr. Ruben called on the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus to celebrate their togetherness, whiteness, and shared mission, noting that in the eyes of God, no one is looked down upon.
He concluded by urging them to remember that they are getting together to heaven and nobody is being left out.
