Catholic Sisters Equipped with Digital Cameras to Enhance Media and Archival Outreach

In an increasingly digital world, preserving history through effective photography and videography has become a vital mission for religious communities.

To support this effort, Catholic Sisters are stepping up their involvement in media communications to document their work and preserve congregational archives for future generations.

While many Sisters have been eager to expand their media skills, a lack of professional equipment previously posed a challenge.

Addressing this need, the Catholic Sister Communicators Network, Ghana (CASCON-GH) donated Canon digital cameras and official media jackets to each participating congregation.

The media jackets provide practical functionality that will make field assignments significantly easier for the Sisters.

Following the presentation of the equipment, an expert in photography and videography, Mr. Derrick Attistsogbui Klu, led an interactive training session on proper camera operations.

The workshop focused on mastering the four core components necessary for effective photography: setting up the lens, managing the battery, handling the SD card, and utilizing the speed light (flash light) appropriately.

The session concluded with words of encouragement, urging the Sisters to make full use of their new tools and confidently explore the expanding digital landscape.

With these new skills and equipment, sisters are now prepared to capture high-quality live footage and photos at future congregational events and public functions.
