Kumasi: Sister Communicators in Ghana Poised to Effectively Use New Cameras, Branded Jackets

In a significant boost to the Church’s communication apostolate, Sister Communicators in Ghana participating in the ongoing Media Training Workshop in Kumasi are poised to make effective and efficient use of new professional cameras and branded jackets presented to them.

In a bid to enhance their ministry of evangelisation through the media, about 40 Sisters from 22 Religious Congregations in Ghana see the presentation of the equipment as an important investment in strengthening the capacity of Catholic Sisters to document and communicate the life and mission of the Church.

The cameras will enable the sisters to produce high-quality visual content, while the branded jackets give them a visible identity as official Church communicators during pastoral activities, ecclesial events, and community engagements.

The initiative reflects the Church’s growing commitment to effective communication in today’s digital age, recognising that stories of faith, hope, service, and transformation deserve to reach audiences far beyond the places where they unfold.

As communicators, the Sisters have been entrusted with the responsibility of capturing and sharing the invaluable contributions of Catholic Sisters in education, healthcare, pastoral ministry, social outreach, and the promotion of justice, peace, and human dignity.

They will also play a vital role in reporting significant Church events, ensuring that the Good News continues to inspire and inform the wider society through credible, timely, and engaging media content.

Receiving the equipment is not merely the acquisition of communication tools; it is a reaffirmation of the Church’s mission to evangelize through modern means of social communication.

Equipped with these resources and enriched by their media training, the Sister Communicators are better prepared to become authentic witnesses of Christ, using photography, storytelling, and digital media to proclaim the Gospel and make the Church’s mission more visible.

As the workshop continues, participants remain committed to developing the professional skills and ethical standards required for Catholic communication, with the shared vision of making the Church’s voice more present, more engaging, and more accessible to people across Ghana and beyond.
