Giving the Mission a Digital Voice

Religious Sisters from across Ghana receive hands-on media training to share their ministries, faith, and humanitarian work more effectively.

The Catholic Sister Communicators Network, Ghana (CASCON) under the auspices of the Conrad Hilton Foundation, hosted a website training workshop for Religious Sisters nationwide.

This event aimed to equip Religious Sisters with media and communication skills to make it easier to spread information, especially about their various apostolates and the missions of their congregations in Ghana.

The training involved 40 Religious Sisters from 22 different Women Religious Congregations working across the country.

This workshop from 29th July 29 to August 2, 2026 gathered the Sisters at the Centre for Spiritual Renewal at Christian Village, Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The workshop covered topics such as website management and ethics, interview techniques and mock sessions, photography, videos, editing, live streaming, social media, and their practical application.

It is inspiring to see these Religious Sisters representing their various Congregations.

The colours and designs of their habits reflect the charism and mission of each Congregation.

Among the participating Congregations at the ongoing training are the Handmaids of the Divine Redeemer (HDR); Sisters of St Joseph of Cluny (SJC); Congregation of Jesus Mary Joseph (JMJ); Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church (SMMC); Society of the Infant Jesus (SIJ); Oblate Sisters of the Holy Spirit (OSS); Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus (HHCJ); Sisters of Divine Love and Mercy (SDLM); Medical Mission Sisters (MMS); Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM); Sisters of Mary Immaculate (SMI); Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth (CSFN); Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy (DMMM); Missionary Sisters of the Holy Spirit (SSpS); Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary (MSHR); Daughters of the Most Holy Trinity (FST); Sisters of St- Louis (SSL); Sisters of the Incarnate Word (SVI); and Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa (MSOLA)

Notably, these Sisters are involved in a variety of humanitarian efforts for people of all backgrounds.

Many serve as teachers and lecturers at different educational levels, work in health and paramedicine, oversee administration, design fashion, cater, and engage in many other professions.

Religious Sisters dedicate their entire lives to serving God through serving humanity: “an unmarried woman is concerned about the Lord’s affairs: her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit” – 1st Corinthians 7:34.

These activities, known as apostolates, are mainly carried out through self-sacrifice and the generosity of

individuals and organizations that support them. When you feel inspired or moved by the work of religious sisters, consider showing some generosity and supporting them in any way you can to help promote their work.

Through this, CASCON – GH warmly invites unmarried ladies who have a heartfelt desire to serve God by helping others to reach out to a congregation that interests them.

They are encouraged to join in their wonderful apostolate and become part of a caring community dedicated to making a difference.
